Today I would like to ask a favour of you:



Anja is an 8-year-old girl from from a little village in Franconia
(South-Germany) and has been fighting for her life since a couple of years.
She suffers from hemophagocyting lymphohistiocytosis ( or Morbus Farquhar) a
very seldom disease with worldwide less than 200 registered cases of
illness. For 98% of the patients no new life is possible without marrow
transplantation, however, by this transplantation patients have a 100%
chance to be healed completely. In Anja´s case doctors meanwhile talk about
a little wonder because she had had her last aggravation of her disease one
year ago. At the moment she needs no transplantation. Her doctors are
astonished but they do not yet signal " all clear".



The association "help for Anja e. V." whose task it is to find marrow donors
for Anja as well as for other people concerned does not give up but
continues organizing further typify actions since there are thousands of
persons suffering from leucaemia who can only survive with donor marrow.



In order to save these lives many people must be pepared to become donors
and, before that, must agree to have a blood typifying. For the evaluation
of these tests the association "help for Anja e.V." has to pay 50 ? for each
blood test. There are always campaigns taking place in order to collect the
money needed but they are not sufficient by far to finance enough
typifyings. It´s a circle: no money - no typifying, no typifying means no
chance for living for leucaemia patients. The association " help for Anja
e.V." has meanwhile found marrow donors for about 30 leucaemia patients and
thus saved 30 lives with its actions.



I myself organized a campaign with 762 donors in Königheim and I am going to
repeat this in a couple of years. In the meantime I would like to collect
money by auctions with things celebrities signed via world wide web as the
willingness to donate marrow is quite high but only few people are able to
pay 50 ? for the laboratory costs.



It would really be great if you could send me something for the auction
(autographs, T-Shirts, CD´s etc.) and we are grateful for everything you
send and I assure you that the profit is completely transferred to the
account of " help for Anja e.V."

Hi, Bobby.
I have been a big fan of yours since the Dome Shadows days in Houston texas. You were playing in a band called "Alan Wayne and Machine". I was a bartender there, and your band filled in twice for a house band with the head band guy was Tommy cashwell. Anyway, Ya'll were a terrific band.

When the band left Houston, we never knew what happened to the band.

My friends(who also worked at the Dome Sshadows) and were big fans of the band, tried to find where you guys were playing.

Next we heard you were playing with Bill Chase, until that terrible crash.

Next we heard about you in Toto. what a fantastic band. I have been a fan since I heard the first song, and recognized your voice.
I am so happy you have done so well. You are so very talented and deserve the best.

I hope that you remember, as well as I do, all the good times you and I and friends had while you were playing at the Dome Shadows.

greetings from Ireland. It's been a while since I've visited your site. I will always remember your visit to Ireland and the gig you performed in my town (and the little 'Irish' party we had afterwards in Gerry's house. I've always been a hugh fan of TOTO and so you can understand the sheer excitement it was for me and my friends to see you perform live and then to meet you after was fantastic. We'll always remember that. I'm delighted to hear the news about TOTO touring again. Unfortunately I won't get a chance to see the show in New York as I'm schedualed to be in Boston and then Canada myself at that time. Dear Toto members,

Just wanted to say I enjoyed your concert at the Vault in Long Beach earlier this year. I have been a fan of Toto since day one. I’ve listened to five of your albums. It all started while I was in high school. I was playing drums and started playing to Boss Scaggs, which David Piach Steve Lukather, and Jeff Porcaro were on this album which was Silk Degrees. IT went from Boss Scaggs to Toto and ever since then I’ve listened to Toto every single day. I really was upset of the passing of Jeff Porcaro, I guess you could say he was my mentor. I waited for Toto to come out with new stuff just to hear more of your great music. It took me till the year of 2005 to finally see you guys play. I was very pleased with the whole concert, I was especially pleased with Bobby Kimball, Steve Lukather, and Simon Phillips, I was impressed with Bobby Kimball because of being able to sing with such a good range for so many years and besides that he is my favorite “koon-ass.” Bobby Kimball does not realize that my father and my uncle both played for a band in Louisiana by the name of the Boogie Kings. My uncle’s name is Dan Silas, my dad’s name is Murphy Buford. They both played sax and insolently Toto had a sax player on one of their album’s and he also played for the Boogie Kings. I talked to my uncle Daniel and he said that him and Bobby Kimball knew each other when they were younger.

I’m the guy that made the word Toto in wooden letters and gave them to your guys at your concert when you played at the Vault at Long Beach. I was very impressed by Steve Lukather’s guitar playing, I didn’t know you could hold a note on the guitar that long. I like the jokes he said about Michael Jackson too. I must say that Simon Phillips was the right man to cover Jeff Pocaro’s place. I was blown away by his solo, looks to me like he does a lot of his high hat work with the left which I think is hard to do. I didn’t want to leave the other two guys out, David Piach and the new edition (new guy) to the band , sorry I don’t’ know your name. I was very impressed by the solo between the two at the beginning of the song Africa. (Didn’t want you to think I left you out guys.) By the way, I just wanted to say to Steve that your son was very nice to me. He took the album and got your guys to sign it for me. I’m gonna look forward to seeing you again in VA Beach on September 3rd. I just wish I could go back stage and party with you guys. :) Alright, if I can’t do that can I at least play drums with Simon Phillips? (Haha) I really look forward to purchasing your new album I know it’s going to be very good and challenging for me. (I play drums also) When I get a new album by Toto I take it to my drum set and play till I have blisters on my hands. I thought that Mike Pocaro was good (he must be good if he can play with his eyes shut) just kidding he was really good and very nice. Hmmm...there's not much i can say about urself, or Toto for that matter that hasnt been said before a thousand times...
...so BUGGER IT!
You and all the guys are absolute bloody champions! Sure, i might not love every song on every album, or have collected every "side" project u guys have ever done (like some die-hard ppl out there have!), but man, just from me to u, u guys have a gift. From God, mind you.
You guys are MU-SI-CIANS...u write and play MU-SIC, and what u guys play is more REAL than an unfortunately large storm of crud that ppl are being brought up on out there.
I might not love u guys enuf...but i respect u guys for being musicians, and that u guys have persevered as a REAL band playin REAL music for as long as you's have, in a world filled with 'plastic'.
U guys are the real deal. Am REALLY enjoying the lead-up to this next album, man, seriously. I actually personally am very glad to hear that u guys are sort of veering from the 'pop-rock' sort of thing (most of ur truest fans probably love u for that though, haha!), but me, im really glad to hear that u guys are pushing urselves to the limits, and maybe going a little more pro-gressive. NICE. That is awesome. Man, all u need is a bit of faith, bro, and u guys will HAVE NO LIMITS, muhahaha!!
Boundaries are there to be pushed, hey.
Here's to no boundaries! (mate, age...never a factor)
It's great to see u guys fully get into what u do, even after all these years. I'm young (18) and am supposed to possess all this energy...and i dunno what im gonna do with it...u guys sure give me some ideas though. Hehehe.

Question: is there anything u can tell me about the overall sound of what u guys are/have recorded so far? I know it's gotta be awesome stuff, whatever it is, but are there any bands u would maybe have drawn comparisons, and/or inspiration from when creating? Hi Bobby, I wanted to know if your solo cd`s are available for purchase & where to get them. I`ve seen 3 toto concerts in the last 15 years. Two in Argentina (kingom of Desire & Tambu) & the last one in New Orleans ( Livefields) by far the best one.
I live in fort lauderdale florida & I`m not aware if "toto" was aware that the last couple of years GULFSTREAM PARK in Hallandale, florida had announced in their concert schedule that TOTO would be playing.
What ever happend ?

Just a note to tell you how much you've impacted my life (and career). I was a music director/dj at several top 10 market CHR stations in the 80s and your music was a foundation of our format.

I'm off the air now and am presently GM of two stations in Dallas. Still, my appreciation for your music has never waned.

Man, you have a voice way past ordinary-best described as legendary. Me and some friends put a band together some years ago in which I played bass and did lead vocals....eeerrr vocals anyway. We covered Caught in the balance-once in concert. After that gig I had to tell the guys "sorry, I'm toast on this tune", such a great tune need a lead with that Kimball power to it. Bobby, you have no idea how happy I am to see you doing so well. It's been a long time since Jerry Cormier, MYF assembly at Centenary, G.G. Shinn and the Texas Pelican. I remember when we first arrived at Centenary (you were 16) and sat down at the piano in the girl's dorm and played Martin Denny's rendition of Taste of Honey. You wowed the crowd then and you still are...worlwide now. And I still appreciate the break you and G.G. gave us and the Sulphur Jaycees at the Texas Pelican benefit that didn't go so well. I had the chance to see and listen to you and TOTO yesterday in Braunschweig. My girlfriend and I travelled approx. 250 kilometers only to see YOU with TOTO. It was such a great and amazing concert. I was simply overwhelmed. I really liked the well prepared setlist with great songs TOTO hasn`t played for a long time. You did your job remarkably. Especially your lead vocal on PAMELA, GOOD FOR YOU, ANGEL DON`T CRY and, of course, HOLD THE LINE were powerful and flawlessly. Unfortunately, it seemed that your lead vocal wasn`t very loud in contrast to the other band memebers. I was a little bit disappointed because you were in top form and sang so fucking good. I think the man at the mix slept like a log very often while you were playing so powerful.
After the show a dream came true: I could see you for a little moment and got an autogramm. I´ve never been expected to see you so near. I couldn`t find the right words. Therefor I write you what I wanted to say yesterday: YOU`RE THE BEST AND I LOVE YOUR VOICE !!!
I hope you`ll get my CD soon and enjoy it...

Things I remember when I hear your voice:

When I was a child (at 80's)I heard Africa, Rosanna, Hold the Line, Good bye Eleonor, And I never knew who was the singer or the group. Many years (almost 15) had to pass for me to know who you were. But, even I didn't know your name I've always enjoyed your voice.

Then I became a rock singer (not a professional one; most heavy metal and prog-rock singer); in a reunion someone asked me "If you could ask for to have de voice of someone else, whish one should be?" I said "Bobby Kimbal's one." Every body looked at me sorprised and I said "That's a real voice"

All a heard form you teached me many things about singing. So the only thing I can say is thank you Mr Kimbal (or Mr. Touteau?) for being the great singer you are.

If you read this please contact me regarding the Ray Charles Tribute CD. If Bobby agrees I'll make you a copy of course I don't want to make a profit of it. I just think everybody should be able to get the music he wants. If it is out of print, like this one - how else? I'm not planning to sell my original CD.
Regarding the section with advices for singers; I think this is a great offer, more than I could ever dream of. I'm not a singer myself but maybe I can do something for my voice. I read that singing helps also improve the selfconfidence which I believe could be true.

Hi, Bobby! Saw you with ToTo in Malmoe, Sweden this year at "Kulturbolaget". WOW! I know you weren't suppose to come to Sweden this year but I'm glad you did! I've seen you three times before, but that was without a doubt the best consert of them all. Even got you to sign my piece of paper!

Due to circumstances I was only able to attend one of them, July 30, and YEAH!!, I'm eating my heart out for not goin' to the other gigs as well, cuz, ah, you guys were outstanding and you especially were JAWDROPPING!!!!!! I knew you could manage Pamela {I told the guys on the messageboard, but they didn't wanna listen to me, suckers, hahahaha!!!} You even blew Fergie way on "his" songs, hehe, GOOSEBUMPS, honest!!!!!!

Hey there!! I just wanted to say that the gig you did i Malmö, Sweden, was GREAT! You were awesome, Bobby, you hit all the right tones, which is damn good since you didn't record them!! I especially loved Angel Don't Cry, you know the part where the lyrics goes "A savage and an angel, You innocently hunger for love", that's VERY high-pitched, but you did it, man!!
